A Celebration of Community
“The Mural Walk has become a signature event in Terrell, bringing our community and visitors together to celebrate history, art, and local culture,” said Sharon Harper, Marketing and Tourism Director of the Terrell Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We look forward to welcoming families, friends, and neighbors downtown for a day filled with creativity, shopping, and fun.”

Ed Hubbell and Norma Talmadge in “The Lady” (1925). This was the first film shown at the Iris Theater 100 years ago this month and will run throughout the day during Terrell Mural Walk on September 20.

Well-preserved historic buildings and homes of great architectural interest intertwine with the mural walk in downtown Terrell. One of the most visited is the 1925 Iris Theatre, where guests find the next best seller or out-of-print books, browse through a consignment boutique, and watch old movies from the building’s original seats. The Iris building turns 100 years old this year. It was September 1, 1925, when “The Lady,” a silent movie played there and it will once again be shown in the theater throughout the day on September 20 in conjunction with the mural walk.

The Terrell Mural Walk is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to explore the many murals, shops, and dining options that make Historic Downtown Terrell a unique destination.
