New Texas Sinfonia concludes their fourth season with Viva l’talia at 3 p.m. May 31 at First Presbyterian Church in Tyler. The Italian-themed program features award-winning organist Bryan Anderson playing East Texas’ largest pipe organ in Alfredo Casella’s rarely heard Concerto Romana

Weston Jennings, artistic director of New Texas Sinfonia, says “Twenty five years ago First Presbyterian Church in Tyler welcomed a new pipe organ of excellent quality coming all the way from Québec, Canada. This concert is a rare treat to hear this magnificent instrument alongside New Texas Sinfonia in a really fun program with Italian flair.”

The concert also includes Ferrucio Busoni’s Divertimento for Flute and Orchestra, featuring flute soloist Joo Chung, and begins with Felix Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony.

Tickets for adults are $20. Students (of all ages) and children are free admission. An informal pre-concert conversation is held 30 minutes prior to the performance with Weston Jennings. Get tickets and more information at www.newtxsinfonia.com or by calling (833) 937-8661.
